Ahead of Eastleigh’s FA Cup 3rd┬áRound tie against Brentford on Saturday,┬áthe EFCNP asked Spitfires midfielder Ben Strevens a few questions!

1) What team did you support growing up?

2) What made you want to return from Whitehawk to the Spitfires?

Being honest, I never wanted to leave in the first place. The manager (at Whitehawk) told a few of us we were not in his plans. When Martin (Allen) phoned me, I had a couple of other options. But I didn’t hesitate, and signed the deal the next day.

3) Who is your role model as a footballer?

Growing up, I always looked up to my Dad and listened to any advice he gave me. The footballer I admired the most is Dennis Bergkamp, as I loved the way he played.

4) What are the differences for a player playing in the Football League, to a player playing in the National League?

There is not a lot of difference between a lot of players playing Non League football and League football. The biggest difference is consistency and fitness.

5) How do you think the Spitfires will get on against your former team, Brentford, on Saturday? Is their an FA Cup shock on the cards?!

It’s going to be really tough because Brentford have got some really good players. But I’m hoping that we are the big FA Cup shock of the round!
